Dr. Phillip Elston is a graduate of the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, IL. He then completed his residency in Ocular Disease/Primary care at the Illinois Eye Institute, also in Chicago. Upon completion of his residency in 2006, Dr. Elston moved to Michigan to continue his Optometric career.
Dr. Elston has been practicing since 2005 and has been serving our veterans at the John D. Dingell VA Medical Center since 2007. In this position, he also serves as the Optometry Residency Director. Dr. Elston also holds a clinical associate professor/faculty position at eight optometry schools across the country. He is active in the teaching and clinical instruction of interns and residents at the John D. Dingell VA Medical Center. In October 2013, Dr. Elston earned the distinction of Fellow in the American Academy of Optometry.
Dr. Elston enjoys spending his free time playing golf and spending time outdoors with his wife and three children.
